Our friends at Georgians for Alternatives for the Death Penalty are hosting their annual BBQ and awards celebration on Saturday, October 7th from 2 – 5 PM at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Join Deacon Erik, IHM members, other Catholics, and people of all faiths working to end capital punishment. Your ticket will include a BBQ dinner and opportunities to meet other activists and organizations working to end the death penalty in Georgia and nationwide.
OPTIONAL: at noon, National Park Rangers will be available for guided tours of the Martin Luther King Jr National Historic Park. The event will honor long time activist Peggy Hendrix, as well as a chance to hear from Billy Neal Moore, who spent 16 years on Georgia’s death row before he was given a rare chance at freedom in 1991.
