The Christmas Season just past was a true Come Together experience for our entire IHM Family! It’s a beautiful thing to see so many parishioners engaged in helping the poor. Our parish served 112 families, including 308 children. 518 gifts were donated, plus 82 grocery gift cards were provided for Christmas meals. IHM School made 55 stockings to include with gift bags. The 9th Grade St. Pius basketball team helped deliver gifts to the families. One family gave our delivery team a Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus manger set they hand made from clay in gratitude. Volunteers from parish ministries and IHM School helped spread the word to assure all 518 gifts were sponsored. 30 volunteers delivered these gifts to the families in need. IHM and Pius students volunteered several hours over a two week period to help pick up and safely store, sort and deliver gifts. It feels great to Come Together and release the incredible generosity of our parish! The receiving families have expressed their thanks and gratitude to IHM. One said: “Thank you immensely for the love and support during this challenging season! It feels like we got a truck full of gifts delivered here on Monday! You guys are amazing!” If you would like to find out more about becoming a Vincentian and keeping that great feeling of helping those in need all year round, please reach out to reach out to Javier Lerch at [email protected] If a parishioner needs help, they can call 678-892-6163.
