THE PRACTICE OF THE JESUS PRAYER

The Jesus Prayer has a long history in Eastern Christian spirituality. We’ll explore its history and the important role it has played in the practice of prayer for laypeople, clergy, and religious. We’ll also examine its continued relevance for both Orthodox and Catholic Christians today.
 
Gregory Hillis, Ph.D. is a Catholic theologian and the Executive Director of the Aquinas Center of Theology at Emory University. His recent book, Man of Dialogue: Thomas Merton's Catholic Vision was awarded the "Louie" award for best new book by the International Thomas Merton Society.
