Deacon Erik was ordained in 2017 in the Archdiocese of Atlanta. 

He currently leads the Archdiocesan group Georgia Catholics Against the Death Penalty, is a former board member of Georgians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty, and has been active in efforts to end capital punishment for the past 25 years.

He and his wife Nancy have been married for 18 years.
